Toddler Community

“Our work as adults does not consist in teaching, but in helping the infant mind in its work of development.”

— Dr. Maria Montessori

i Discover is a space where one learns through observation, exploration, experience and understanding. Learning is undefined and a constant movement towards “critical thinking” and “attentive comprehension”.

The programmes at i Discover cover the three planes of development from 15 months to 18 years. Keeping in mind the needs and developmental stages of each plane, i Discover offers the following programmes:
Toddler Community – “the age of exploration and discovery” - This programme provides the secondary environment to children who are between the age group of 18 months to 3 years, the primary environment being the home. The Toddler Community provides additional resources by way of interaction with other children, exposure to vertical age group where the very young child learns by collaboration and observation and an environment that is safe yet exploratory to aid learning.

Activities have been developed and designed to meet the growth needs of children. As in everything else in i Discover, the program has been custom designed for children of this age group. The child's mind absorbs everything that he/she senses like a sponge. The environment at i Discover makes this happen.

ACTIVITY

THE AFTERNOON CARE Afternoon Care is from 1 pm to 7 pm, wherein children from our Montessori and other schools between the age group 3 to 10 years can spend time doing various activities like sketching, craftwork, clay work, dancing and singing (classical). For those requiring additional guidance in school work, help will also be given with regard to that. We have two trained adults with two support staff to cater to the needs of children as young as 2 years.
The Afternoon Care facility is equipped with a refrigerator and a microwave; the food and milk provided by the parents will be given to the child after it is warmed. The goal is to make our children feel like at home away from home.

EXTRA CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
Along with the Montessori curriculum i Discover has a set of extra-curricular activities as part of it.
i Discover Academy has Yoga, Theatre, Science Experiments, Art & Craft and Fireless cooking for 2nd and 3rd years. These activities are scheduled on Thursdays and Fridays.

House of Children

“Our work as adults does not consist in teaching, but in helping the infant mind in its work of development.”

— Dr. Maria Montessori

House of Children – “the age of independence and order” - This programme is a space where children in the age group of 3 years to 6 years gather to learn various aspects of life which includes the preparation to formal schooling, academics, life skills and development of the child’s personality as a whole. Children learn through experiences, observation, exploration and realization. The learning that happens in the early years manifests gradually as the child enters the lower elementary group.

Elementary Programmes

“Our work as adults does not consist in teaching, but in helping the infant mind in its work of development.”

— Dr. Maria Montessori

Elementary Programmes – “the age of imagination and creation” - The lower and upper elementary programmes provide opportunities to children in the age group of 6 years to 12 years to experience formal schooling that conforms to a certain syllabus, but in such a way that it does not restrict or hinder true learning. Keeping in mind the developmental stage, the socio emotional aspect and the milestones defined by the syllabus and the true potential of the child, i Discover continues to enable learning with the help of a well designed and dynamic curriculum and environment.
